Sessions are individualized to meet the unique needs of each child or teen and focus on building the tools, insight, and coping strategies needed to support success at home, school, and in daily life. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) while taking a holistic, child-centered perspective that considers each child or teen’s emotional, behavioral, developmental, social, and environmental needs.
I have extensive experience supporting children and teens with ADHD, anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, emotional and behavioral regulation challenges, social and emotional struggles, giftedness, school-related stress, family changes including divorce, grief and loss, and a variety of other developmental and mental health concerns.
We will begin by discussing your child or teen’s needs over the phone. Initial sessions focus on helping your child or teen feel comfortable, building rapport, and gathering information to guide treatment, as a strong therapeutic relationship is an important foundation for meaningful progress. Parents are welcome to attend initial sessions as needed.
Sessions are available in 30- or 45-minute formats and include an optional brief follow-up call with the parent/guardian after each session. Parent phone consultations lasting 15-30 minutes may also be scheduled periodically to provide updates, review progress, and make adjustments to counseling plans as needed.
I also partner with select schools throughout the Tampa Bay area to provide on-campus services while offering support both virtually and from my office in the Westchase/Odessa area.
Virtual sessions are available for families throughout the state of Florida and are generally recommended for children ages 8 and older.
Eligible families may be able to utilize approved Step Up scholarship funds, including PEP and FES-UA, for evaluations and counseling services.
