Psychoeducational evaluation options

Gifted

Does your child display above level academic achievement in school, have a strong sense of curiosity and desire to learn, and have strong problem-solving abilities? Then a gifted evaluation may be right for your child. This evaluation can be used to determine whether your child may meet eligibility for gifted services in the schools. There are two types of Gifted evaluations that can be selected.


  • Basic: A basic intelligence (IQ) assessment will be administered to obtain an overall IQ score. Assessment administration will take approximately 30-60 minutes. A written report will be provided and reviewed upon completion. 


  • Comprehensive: A comprehensive IQ assessment will be administered to obtain an overall IQ and will provide information in the areas of memory, visual processing, verbal reasoning, fluid reasoning, and processing speed. Assessment administration will take approximately 90-120 minutes. A written report will be provided and reviewed upon completion. 

Specific Learning Disability

Do you have concerns that your child may have a learning disability? You may suspect a learning disability if your child continues to perform poorly or not at their full potential despite receiving targeted intervention support, has consistently below level scores or grades, and/or takes longer to grasp concepts compared to their peers. 


This evaluation includes:

  • Clinical interview with parents 
  • Review of relevant records
  • Academic assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics (more assessment in specific area of weakness can be provided). 
  • Comprehensive IQ 
  • Recommendations 

A report will be written and provided after the evaluation is completed and a feedback meeting will be scheduled to review results via phone, zoom, or in-person based upon parent preference.


Assessment administration time: approximately 3-5 hours with breaks and approximately 1 hour for parent interview.

Reading Difficulties (Dyslexia)

Do you have concerns that your child may have a learning disability in the area of reading? You may suspect a learning disability in reading, or Dyslexia, if your child continues to perform poorly in reading despite receiving targeted intervention support. This can include difficulty remembering letters and sounds, sounding out words, reading fluently and comprehending what they've read.


This evaluation includes:

  • Clinical interview with parents 
  • Review of relevant records
  • In depth academic assessment in reading (other academic areas can be added)
  • Comprehensive IQ 
  • Recommendations 

A report will be written and provided after the evaluation is completed and a feedback meeting will be scheduled to review results via phone, zoom, or in-person based upon parent preference.


Assessment administration time: approximately 3-5 hours with breaks and approximately 1 hour for parent interview.

Attention (ADHD)

Do you have concerns regarding your child's ability to maintain their attention and/or their high levels of hyperactivity? This evaluation is for parents who are concerned their child's inattention and/or excessive energy levels are negatively impacting their schooling and who believe their child may be exhibiting characteristics of ADHD.


This evaluation includes:

  • Clinical social/developmental interview with parents
  • Review of relevant records
  • Academic assessment in reading, writing, and mathematics
  • Comprehensive IQ
  • Behavioral Rating Scales to teachers and parents to determine likelihood of ADHD
  • Executive Functioning rating scales can also be provided at an additional cost 
  • Recommendations

A report will be written and provided after the evaluation is completed and feedback meeting will be scheduled to review results via phone, zoom, or in-person meeting based upon parent preference.


Assessment administration time: approximately 3-4 hours with breaks for academic and IQ, 2-3 hours for parent interview and rating scales.

Autism (ASD)

Do you have concerns your child may be on the Autism Spectrum? This evaluation is for parents who are looking for more information to determine whether their child may be on the Autism Spectrum.


This evaluation includes:

  • Clinical social/developmental interview with parents
  • Review of relevant records
  • Academic assessment
  • Comprehensive IQ
  • Behavioral rating scales to teachers and parents 
  • Adaptive functioning rating scales to teachers and parents
  • Recommendations

A report will be written and provided after the evaluation is completed and feedback meeting will be scheduled with parents to review results.


Assessment administration time: approximately 3-4 hours with breaks for academic and IQ, 2-3 hours for parent interview and rating scales.

Intellectual Disability

Do you have concerns your child may be much lower cognitively than other children their age? This evaluation is for parents who have noticed their child appears to need more support with everyday tasks and seems to be significantly behind other children their age academically or socially.


This evaluation includes:

  • Clinical social/developmental interview with parents
  • Review of relevant records
  • Comprehensive IQ and additional IQ if needed
  • Academic assessment
  • Adaptive functioning rating scales to teachers and parents
  • Social/emotional functioning rating scales to teachers and parents if needed
  • Recommendations

A report will be written and provided after the evaluation is completed and feedback meeting will be scheduled with parents to review results.


Assessment administration time: approximately 3-4 hours with breaks for academic and IQ, 2-3 hours for parent interview and rating scales.

IQ/Cognitive Processing Assessment

Are you curious about your child's overall intellectual ability score and their pattern of cognitive strengths and weaknesses? This evaluation will include a comprehensive IQ including specific areas of cognitive processing to assist in educational planning or intervention. A report will be written and provided after evaluation is completed and feedback meeting will be scheduled. 


Assessment administration time: approximately 1.5-2 hours
